Die vorgeschlagene Konzeptionierung für den Stadtwald Wolfsburg ist sehr verantwortlich, besonders gegenüber den
Gefährdungen durch die Klimakrise und durch Verlust an Biodiversität !
Der Stadtwald hat ein starkes Potenzial an heimischen Laubbäumen und besonders an Eichen. Diese gelten im Klimawandel als besonders überlebensfähig mit tiefen Wurzeln, Hitzetoleranz und einer langen Lebensdauer bis zu 1.000 Jahren.
Gerade eben im Juli 2023 hat die EU-Kommission eine „Strategie zu mehr natur-orientierter Waldwirtschaft“ veröffentlicht. Darin wird das „Lübecker Konzept“ europaweit als „best practice“ und damit als ein Referenzkonzept beschrieben und empfohlen. Das kann auch in Wolfsburg zur Absicherung und wirtschaftlichen Nutzung des Waldes
genutzt werden.
Finde die umweltpolitischen Ziele insgesamt fachlich professionell begründet und überzeugend. Vor allem für den Stadtwald Wolfsburg wünsche ich mir die entsprechende Bewirtschaftung und Zertifizierung. Dass Technik allein uns nicht hilft, hat Maja Göpel, Generalsekretärin des wissenschaftlichen Beirats der Bundesregierung, in ihrem Buch „Unsere Welt neu denken“ für mich sehr gut begründet. Es kommt laut Maja Göpel auf eine neue Einstellung zu Naturressourcen und wirtschaftlichem Wachstum an. Auch Bodenschätze zu gewinnen hat seinen Preis. Negative Auswirkungen auf Natur und Umwelt als Finanzposten in Gutachten zur Wirtschaftlichkeit mit einzuplanen wäre ein möglicher Ansatz.
